The start of a new school year is an exciting time, filled with new experiences and anticipation for what’s to come. Maude Lehmann '15 Gives Moving Commencement Address to the Class of 2022

Hi, my name is Maude Lehmann, I was at Parkside from 2010 to 2015. I was then at Summit from 2015 to 2018. And now I’m at the High School of Art & Design in the major of cartooning, I’ll be graduating from there next week and then in August I’ll be starting at Vassar College. Celebrating the Class of 2022

This afternoon, the Parkside Class of 2022 walked across the stage at the New York Society for Ethical Culture to give their graduation speeches and celebrate all they have achieve during their time at Parkside. It was a moving ceremony, with family and friends present in person for the first time since 2019. One of the highlights of the ceremony was the commencement address by alumna Maude Lehmann ‘15.

Resilience and Flexibility in OT

The global pandemic has certainly taught all of us resilience and flexibility. Children had to wear masks, shift between virtual and in-person learning, negotiate friendships from a distance, and navigate a new world of rules and restrictions. They also processed complex feelings about an uncertain and unpredictable future. In the Occupational Therapy department, we have been very proud of our students for their adaptability and good cheer.
